Sunbeam Colleen is a songwriter and musician from Queens, New York who deals in being uniquely herself. She writes honest, funny, and heartbreaking music about her cat, wanting to make out with her friends, and the feelings and foibles of life. She needed photographs for her album covers, posters, social media, and website. My photo shoot with her aimed to be as intimate as her music. We shot in many different rooms of her apartment in Ridgewood, Queens as well as on the fire escape, with Colleen wearing her favorite clothes, playing guitar, hanging out with her dirty dishes, and eating Junior Mints. The concept for this shoot was a collaboration between me and Colleen, as it was important that Colleen's unique personality shine through.
